An immersive audio-visual experience that transforms field recordings of birdsong into dark, experimental electronic soundscapes. Accompanied by real-time AI-generated visuals, the performance explores the interplay between nature, technology, and human emotion
Lost Communications is an audiovisual performance that transforms birdsong into a dark, experimental electronic soundscape. Created by composer An-Ting and creative technologist Ian Gallagher, the work features their field recordings of birds from the UK, Mongolia, Sichuan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, reimagined as a haunting musical composition. Real-time AI-generated visuals, created using Stable Diffusion, Comfy UI, and Touch Designer, respond dynamically to the music, creating a dialogue between human creativity and machine intelligence.
Drawing from extraordinary journeys – high-altitude explorations to ayahuasca rituals – Lost Communications invites audiences to explore nature’s mysteries through immersive technology, acting as a bridge between human creativity and nature’s advanced systems. The performance creates visceral, unprecedented sensations—a portal to reimagine humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
